Penhaven

In The Begining

Back when Penhaven wan just bunches of swirling colors, a great Dragon, traveling through the dimentions decided to stay and create a perfect world. First she brought about the earth, then water, and air. Then she took the colors and wove them into her magic. The white she wove into the air, the blue she wove into the water, the greens became tied into all living things, and a golden brown became the earth magic.

Next she created the minor creatures; rabbits, hawks, deer, and the like. She then began to create the creatures that were born into magic. To the Dragons, she gave the responsibility of all the magics. To the Elves she gave the forests and control over the green magic. To the Gryphons she gave the air and it's magic, to the Gnomes she gave the earth and the magic in it. To the Mer-people she gave the oceans, rivers, and lakes, and all magic connected with them.

For a while all was peaceful, until a Demon came across the world and began to create havoc. First from the leftover colors it created fire. With the creation of fire, came death and destruction . Then it made the comon races of today. Humans, Orcs, Dwarves and the like, and with these creatures came hate and war.

When the Great Dragon saw what the Demon had done she challenged it to a fight. The fight caused great destruction and created the Great Bay in the East. As the Gread Dragon died, she created the Firewitch, and cast one last spell. By petrifying herself, she became part of the world she created, she is the one we call Gaia. The Demon also being mortaly wounded flew to the most beutiful part of the world and created the desert, also becoming part of this world of ours. He is Diablo, whom the evil ones follow.

After this, the creatures of magic, the Dragons, the Gnomes, the Elves, Mer-people, the Gryphons, and the Firewitch, met at Dragonrock, where the Dragons decided to dwell. There they decided that although the Humans and other creatures were created by the Demon, that they should not be denied the usage of magic. So they created the Schools. The Gryphons built a castle on top of a cloud to the South, while to the North, the Gnomes created a great cavern system in the mountains for the School of Earth Magic. In the East, in the Great Bay, the Mer-people built a beutiful coral castle under the sea for the School of Water Magic, and to the West under the sands of the desert, the Firewitch built a school for Fire Magic. The Elves were stubborn in their belief that only they should be allowed the use of the Green Magic created the Void. The Void is an uncharted forest where the Elves live. No-one who has entered the Void has returned, although it is rumored that the people entering the Void agree to not tell anyone about the Elves and the refuge they are given.
